on life

One of my room mates ( oh yes roomie for u) is always on a sentimental song on life. I dont exactly fall on the same category but still I do have my blues. For eg today I came upon one of my classmates my best pal in fact but the problem is that now there seems to be an unreachable gap between us. Still I made the first move and now it is all up to him to reply. I dont expect him to but you never know. Moreover I have enough friends to keep my scrapping fingers full. But sometimes you do feel a nagging of your mind to see and know how ur forgotten pals are doing and where they are presently digging their soles. I believe the same culprit forced me to do the thing. Well I must move on. Lets see how many pals I get on in my work life. One of my elders is of the opinion that the school friends are the truest you would get in your lifetime... lets see whether this holds water for me or not. I am ready to wait and watch for it to materialize

on programmers

I seriously believe that there are two types of programmers in the world 1> software pros and 2> hackers. The former are here simply to use the programming world as a step to the higher corporate ladder. They do not have the slightest affinity for programming and are here till they get their MBA from some reputed college and then get out of the system. Hackers on the other hand are very much dedicated to the programming way of life and will rather miss a promotion if that means getting out of touch of it. No wonder they often refuse to do a MBA so that they can continue to remain where they are and do what they are presently doing. I have no misgivings against the former but certainly I would like to join the latter. That is if I qualify for that role, which I am sure I will some day. Meanwhile hail to both types of programmers with slight presentiment for the former. What do you say....?

on 5959/5960...1

sitting on the 5959 can be quite interesting for an uninitiated traveler and quite often an instructive one too. for example it can give an ample glance to how the sleeper class compartments of a train can be used as a potential market place. No ambiguities please by market I mean a place of exchange. And the customers why the passengers! the reader perhaps will put me down as a busybody but before that I would like to recommend to him a journey in that train. For one I genuinely believe he will be bewildered by the sheer volume of the items as by the spectrum of variety. And yes also by the way they are bargained. You should not be surprised at all if the a good bargainer can pocket an item for one third or perhaps even one fifth of the quoted price. The hawkers as they are known aboard the 5959 quote sky high prices for everything they have on display. And what a range of display everything from china bum to casio synthezizer to landline handsets to toys to shirt pieces. You name the object and you get it on the train. Such is the fame of the market of the 5959 express....
