Welcoming 2008

Even as 2007 passes and as a new Year 2008 comes ahead most people will wish for a hundred gifts.I would however like to thank god for whatever He(or She !!) has given me in the last one year and assure the almighty that I will try to live up to it. However if there is anything that I might ask I would ask for the ability to control my mind which is continually restless. And yes I would ask GOD to enable me to learn effeciently have courage , try out new things and continue to grow both as a person and also as a programmer. And yes my new year resoulution ( I know I may not stick to it but everyone has one so ... for me it is this) cut down on stomach flab exercise regularly. And yes I intend to go home in APRIL and give my parents lots of gifts. I may also buy a laptop. Ahh ! too many things in the pipeline. Now lets just enjoy and freeze and relax. The new year should bring a lot of hope that will help me hold on to my life and do more for my family and friends so that I may grow up more as a person and also a citizen.

on the year 2007

I guess its too early to write about this year since a month is yet to pass before this ends. However today I can hardly hold myself from writing a post. As a I look back on the year I can see my self looking around hopefully for the offer letter in the month of January. In the march me and my best pal were struggling with my project and boredom. Then in april a stormy semester. Yes in between a trip to hyderabad. The last days of the college. And then suddenly in corporate life. The July and August went in the sheer tension of whether or not we were going to survive in the company. And in September we were in LIVE projects. By October end and November I had become dis illusioned about my dream of becoming a programmer. Today after getting recognition my faith has been re established. Indeed there is a way. Only that I have to find it and walk on it so that I find my journey. The destination can take care of itself

on RGV KI AAG

Saturday mornings are full of hope for programmers. For they get a chance to decode themselves. So my natural tendency on those are to head for a screen. This Saturday I decided to hit the nearest Fame for AAG. I won't go into the details b'coz it is horrifying even to think of it. But I would like to request our honourable film makers to be a little more sparing and mercifull in their punishments. It is not very human to bombard high intensity commercials on a helpless movie-goer who falls into the trap and then penalize him in form of tickets torture him for three hours and then expect that he would ENJOY the experience.
These days we the young generation always have to listen to the taunts of our elders on the quality of movies(since they think we are responsible for them) and to add to our load such monstries is inhuman.I sincerely request the film making fraternity of our movie industry to make reasonable movies if not good movies. Or else we will have to baptize into hardcore American Motion picture industry fans.

from the company 2

The first few weeks in the company have been wonderfull and well challenging. Yes a lot more is yet to go and challenges yet to come. But I believe that I have atleast the right journey. Although only time can confirm that. It is going to be difficult to keep up pace with the changing technology and environment and it perhaps in that , that there lies the challenge and glory of it.

for a cultural function

cultural functions can be pretty interesting if for example you are the right type. But for people like me it can be a quite boring stuff. Now for example I should have been sleeping cosily in my room , instead of that I am lost in a maze of mosquitoes trying to figure out code for our annual programming contest. I sincerely doubt how many of the participants actually have any love for the stuff. Actually most do it since they have to do it... for cracking the soft companies but with zero love for coding profession. Yet in spite of that I a very genuine programmer is sentenced to building a question paper for them. Isnt it atrocious? Yes you would agree if you are on the right side of the line dividing the programmers and the non-programmers. But dont throw stones on me if happen to be on the other side because it is for you people only that I am battling mosquitoes and JPD .....

on life

One of my room mates ( oh yes roomie for u) is always on a sentimental song on life. I dont exactly fall on the same category but still I do have my blues. For eg today I came upon one of my classmates my best pal in fact but the problem is that now there seems to be an unreachable gap between us. Still I made the first move and now it is all up to him to reply. I dont expect him to but you never know. Moreover I have enough friends to keep my scrapping fingers full. But sometimes you do feel a nagging of your mind to see and know how ur forgotten pals are doing and where they are presently digging their soles. I believe the same culprit forced me to do the thing. Well I must move on. Lets see how many pals I get on in my work life. One of my elders is of the opinion that the school friends are the truest you would get in your lifetime... lets see whether this holds water for me or not. I am ready to wait and watch for it to materialize

on programmers

I seriously believe that there are two types of programmers in the world 1> software pros and 2> hackers. The former are here simply to use the programming world as a step to the higher corporate ladder. They do not have the slightest affinity for programming and are here till they get their MBA from some reputed college and then get out of the system. Hackers on the other hand are very much dedicated to the programming way of life and will rather miss a promotion if that means getting out of touch of it. No wonder they often refuse to do a MBA so that they can continue to remain where they are and do what they are presently doing. I have no misgivings against the former but certainly I would like to join the latter. That is if I qualify for that role, which I am sure I will some day. Meanwhile hail to both types of programmers with slight presentiment for the former. What do you say....?

on 5959/5960...1

sitting on the 5959 can be quite interesting for an uninitiated traveler and quite often an instructive one too. for example it can give an ample glance to how the sleeper class compartments of a train can be used as a potential market place. No ambiguities please by market I mean a place of exchange. And the customers why the passengers! the reader perhaps will put me down as a busybody but before that I would like to recommend to him a journey in that train. For one I genuinely believe he will be bewildered by the sheer volume of the items as by the spectrum of variety. And yes also by the way they are bargained. You should not be surprised at all if the a good bargainer can pocket an item for one third or perhaps even one fifth of the quoted price. The hawkers as they are known aboard the 5959 quote sky high prices for everything they have on display. And what a range of display everything from china bum to casio synthezizer to landline handsets to toys to shirt pieces. You name the object and you get it on the train. Such is the fame of the market of the 5959 express....
